If fibre is unavailable in your area, or you are ready to update your copper connection, our reliable wireless broadband is an excellent alternative.
You can choose one of our wonderful offers when you bring your electricity and broadband together with Mercury.
Wireless broadband runs over the 4G network (instead of through underground cables like copper or fibre). It’s an excellent option if your area doesn’t have infrastructure for a fibre WiFi network, employing the same technology that your mobile phone uses to access the Internet.
Available in most places with 4G coverage, Mercury’s wireless broadband service is super simple to set up. All plans come with a router, so getting your broadband connection up and running is a breeze.
Average 4G wireless broadband connection speeds are typically faster than ADSL copper but not as fast as fibre. Numerous factors can impact speeds, including the location of your home and router, age of devices, number of devices connected, and internet traffic.
Speeds: Download 64Mbps/Upload 18Mbps**
Recommended for: Small to medium households with only 1-2 devices online at the same time. Suitable for browsing, emailing and basic streaming.

One Bill One easy bill each month, for all your services.
Rewards Earning rewards points – add broadband and fast-track your way to your next Free Power Day or bill credit.
Offer Summaries
*Prices include GST. Prices may change during the term. T&Cs and early termination fees apply. Router included, P&H $14.95. Broadband plan availability may vary.
**Speeds shown are the Spark national average speeds for Wireless Broadband at busy times (source: MBNZ Report 23, March 2025). You may experience a higher or lower speed than this. Broadband speeds explained. 1,000GB and 300GB data plans run at maximum speed to data threshold, then are throttled to 5Mbps until the plan renews. 120GB plan is capped and once data cap has been reached, service will stop until the plan renews, unless data packs are purchased to continue service at maximum speed.
If you have a capped wireless broadband plan and use up your monthly base plan data, to keep you online you will have one 10GB extra data pack automatically added and charged to your account. If you use all your base plan data as well as this additional Auto Allowance, your broadband service will stop (until your monthly plan renews) unless you top up manually with an Add-On pack. We recommend purchasing Add-On pack when needed as they provide you with great value for money. They need to be manually purchased by you and do not automatically renew each month. Check out the packs available below. It’s easy to add or remove a pack with the Mercury app. You can download our app from the app store. From there, simply head to the Broadband section within the app to manage your Wireless Broadband plan.
Auto-Allowance Data Packs:
Data Pack - 10GB $10
One available per 30 days
Add-On Data Packs:
Up to 4 available per 30 days

However, as our Wireless Broadband plans are capped (unlimited plans aren't available), it's important to keep this in mind when deciding on your service type. If you're after an unlimited plan, check out our ADSL/VDSL, or Fibre broadband solutions.

Any unused base plan data remaining at the end of the billing period will not carry forward.
Any data purchased as an additional 10GB data pack, either manually or as part of an automatic pack, is available for 30 days from the date of purchase, and unused data will be lost at the end of the 30-day period.
When your plan renews, the oldest data will be used first.
