WAYS WE GENERATE
HYDRO
We have 9 hydro stations on the Waikato River. These harness the power of water to generate on average 10% of New Zealand’s annual electricity supply.
ABOUT HYDRO
WIND
Our wind farms generate electricity from fresh air. Plus, we recently built New Zealand’s largest wind farm.
ABOUT WIND
GEOTHERMAL
We operate five geothermal plants located in the central North Island that power base-load – this means they make power 24/7 ensuring a constant supply of power night and day.
ABOUT GEOTHERMAL
ELECTRIFYING OUR COMMUTE
In the last few years we’ve converted more than 70% of our vehicle fleet to electric or plug-in hybrid. Plus, we’re a proud member of EV100, an initiative to help reduce carbon emissions and make electric transport the new normal by 2030.
Learn about all the ways we get involved with e.transport and see how you can transform your daily commute for the better!
