KAWERAU COMMUNITY FUND.
We know that Kawerau is a community where people get things done. The Mercury Kawerau Community Fund is an annual fund of $30,000 to support organisations and projects that benefit the communities around our power station. This fund opens in August each year.
KEY INFORMATION
Applications to the Fund are considered by a small team including Mercury people who work or live in Kawerau, to have a good understanding of where additional support (from the Fund) might make a real difference. We may not be able to accept all requests, or to support any request in full.
We will look at applications from the communities nearest our geothermal operations first.

RECENTLY FUNDED PROJECTS
$3000 to support Waka Ora health shuttle service in the Kawerau area.
$3000 to support outings for senior community members.
$495 for gazebos to support their work.
$2000 towards tournament travel costs and boxing equipment.
$2,000 towards a warmer community facility.
$2000 towards replacing their Irrigation Pump.
$1375 to purchase field compasses.
$3,800 towards de-sexing for cats and dogs.
$4,000 towards operating costs.
$2,300 towards life and financial skills programmes at Kawerau Community Corrections.
$3000 towards updating their computer system.
$3000 to support community connection for senior community members.
