$5 BILL CREDIT ON A 12 MONTH FIXED TERM OFFER

We like to offer our customers something a little more wonderful. Lots of words, we know! But here’s everything you need to know about this fixed term offer. Grab a cup of tea and have a read!

What is the offer?

  1. This fixed term offer is available to existing electricity only and dual fuel (electricity and gas) residential Mercury customers who accept the offer online, over the phone or by email.

  2. The offer applies for 12 months from the date you sign up to this fixed term offer ("Offer Period").

  3. By taking up this offer, you will receive twelve $5 bill credits applied over 12 months after the offer is applied to your account ("Offer"). Your first $5 bill credit will be applied to your Mercury account within 10 days after you have successfully moved to this Offer. You will then receive a $5 bill credit every 30 days thereafter for the next eleven months.

How can I redeem this offer?

  1. To redeem the Offer, you will need to accept the Offer over the phone, through email or via My Account. Once the Offer is accepted via one of these channels, we will take care of the rest.

Changing your Fixed Term Plan

  1. If you cancel your fixed price plan before the end of your term an early termination fee of $150 (inclusive of GST) will apply. This early termination fee does not apply if:
    a. You cancel within 10 days of your fixed price plan confirmation letter (and your pre-existing rates will apply during that period); or
    b. The fixed term period has expired and you have remained on this plan.

  2. If you move property during the fixed period, please contact us before you move and:
    a. You can take your fixed price plan with you so long as your move is within the same network and your new property has the same meter type; or
    b. If we are unable to transfer your fixed price plan to your new address, you will be offered a new fixed term offer and you will not be charged an early termination fee. If an alternative fixed term offer is not available, you will be transferred to standard Mercury prices and you will not be charged an early termination fee as long as you remain a Mercury customer.

  3. Your fixed prices are based on your current meter type.
    1. If your meter type changes, where possible, we will put you on the fixed price plan for your new meter.
    2. If your current meter set up is incorrect, we will place you on the correct pricing plan that matches your meter.

  4. If you choose to move to a plan that includes Solar Generation Rates for electricity during the term of this offer, your fixed term plan will automatically be terminated: 1. Your electricity and gas supply will be moved to an open-term plan; and 2. A termination fee will not be applied.

  5. The fixed price plan does not include GST, and any of the Mercury Service Fees (as available on our website). Any subsequent change to the NZ Government GST rate, and Mercury Service Fees within the period of this agreement will apply.

  6. Please note that while the rates for other individual parts of your total price may change, we will make sure your total prices will remain fixed in line with this plan.

  7. Your fixed price plan term will not renewed at the end of the then-current term and unless you accept an alternative offer that will be made to you, you will revert to standard Mercury prices at the end of such term.

  8. Unless we tell you otherwise, you cannot combine this offer or pricing plan with any other Mercury offer or pricing plan.

  9. The offer is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
