CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Vince joined Mercury in March 2020. Vince has considerable experience in the energy sector in both New Zealand and Australia. Most recently he was Chief Executive at Trustpower and prior to that, Chief Executive of Hydro Tasmania. Vince qualified as a Mining Engineer, working in UK coal mines and has an MBA from the University of Waikato. Vince commenced his career in the New Zealand energy sector at the Huntly power station and led both the generation and retail divisions at Genesis Energy. He led the demerger of Tilt Renewables from Trustpower and later oversaw the acquisition of Tilt’s New Zealand assets by Mercury.
GENERAL MANAGER SUSTAINABILITY
Lucie is responsible for the overall strategic framework and environmental, social, and corporate governance at Mercury. She also leads our external communications, regulatory and government relations functions. A major focus for Lucie and her team is on identifying new possibilities for our company in the future of energy. She joined Mercury in 2012 and has held a range of roles across the business. Prior to Mercury, Lucie practised environmental and energy law in New Zealand and the UK.
GENERAL MANAGER PORTFOLIO
Phil is responsible for managing Mercury’s fuel portfolio, generation development, wholesale market activities and sales to large commercial and industrial customers. Phil joined Mercury in 2004 and has held several roles across the business including General Manager Hydro & Wholesale, Wholesale Markets Manager and Head of Technology & Innovation in Consumer Markets. Prior to joining the electricity industry, Phil spent six years in structural engineering roles in Auckland, Wellington, and London.
GENERAL MANAGER GENERATION
Stew is responsible for the asset management, operation, and maintenance of our renewable generation assets – hydro, geothermal and wind. He has a focus on health and safety, with an ongoing aim of zero harm. Before joining Mercury in 2021, Stew was the Chief Executive and General Manager at New Zealand Aluminium Smelters. He has more than 25 years’ experience leading large-scale processing and mining operations and began his career as an engineer.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
William joined Mercury in 1999 and heads the finance, treasury, ICT, legal and investor relations functions. William was previously responsible for generation investment strategy and enterprise risk functions. He has long-standing industry experience in risk management, power development, wholesale markets and forecasting.
GENERAL MANAGER COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS
Craig is responsible for driving the commercial strategy of our retail business, including our energy and telecommunications offerings, and the smooth-running of our day-to-day commercial operations. Craig joined Mercury in 2021. He has significant experience in the energy sector, with more than a decade’s experience in senior leadership positions, most recently with Trustpower.
GENERAL MANAGER CUSTOMER OPERATIONS
Fiona leads our customer service delivery model, including our customer engagement and customer solutions functions. She joined Mercury from Trustpower in 2022 via our acquisition of Trustpower’s retail business. She has been with Trustpower for 26 years, has vast electricity and telecommunications industry knowledge and extensive experience in customer operations, service and the delivery of customer-centric outcomes.
GENERAL MANAGER PEOPLE & PERFORMANCE
Marlene joined us in 2012 and leads the company’s human resources strategy, employee engagement and internal communications. Marlene has more than 25 years’ experience in human resources, with a strong organisational development background including in telecommunications, banking and the health sector.
