WHY THE WEEKENDER?

With increasing demand on the national grid, we’re exploring options to help ease peak demand. So we’re trialing the Weekender plan.
A time-based plan that rewards you with cheaper rates* throughout your weekend. Take control and save when you shift your usage.

THE TRIAL

As we’re testing a new pricing structure and observing how this interacts with various systems, the trial will likely bring up some issues, please report these to the Slack Channel as you come across them.
The team will ensure you are billed correctly, running constant reports to look for any abnormalities, adjusting them as needed.

Have a question?

Check out our most commonly asked questions on the Weekender below.
When will my rates change? Yes, as part of this trial you’ll be moved from the rates you’re currently on to two new time-based usage rates. We've included these rates in the initial offer email. We’ll notify you via Slack when your new rates have been applied and your Weekender plan starts, which will be from 20 June 2024 onwards.
How long is the weekender trial? The trial will last for two to three months. We’ll keep you informed and notify you of any changes ahead of time.
When will I get the $50 account credit? You’ll see this as an account credit on your first bill once the Weekender trial has started.
Can I accept another offer or add another service? Please avoid making any changes to your plan, such as adding new products or plans, or switching to a competitor. If you have an unavoidable change, please let us know via the Slack channel.
How will I view my usage and costs? We’re still learning how your usage will be displayed in My Account, the app, and the usage reports. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more. However, the graphs won’t take your new rates into consideration, and therefore, the costs shown will be inaccurate. If you need any help calculating new costs, please get in touch with us via the Slack channel.
How will the Weekender plan appear on my bill?

We’re still learning how the new rates will appear on your bill. Your first bill (with the new rates) might separate your charges into several extra lines, but your consumption information will still be correct.

This will be an iterative process, and from your second bill onwards, it should be simplified to look as shown below. Although not ideal, we’ve faced a number of limitations that prevent it from displaying as we’d like.

Note, because of the way TOU pricing is applied, your bill will say the readings are estimates. Please disregard this; your bills will be based on actual readings. Our team will run reports and closely monitor bills throughout the trial to identify and correct any actual estimates.

How much can I save? With the Weekender trial, we're giving you the control to save. The more you shift your usage to the Weekender discounted times (Friday 9pm to Sunday 11.59pm), the more you can take advantage of the lower rates!
What should I do if I come across an issue or abnormality? As we’re testing a new pricing structure and observing how this interacts with various systems, the trial will likely bring up some issues, please report these to the Slack Channel as you come across these. This could look like an abnormality with your billing, readings, or anything you come across that seems unusual. We’ll then deal with them on a case-by-case basis. The team will ensure you are billed correctly, running constant reports to look for any abnormalities, adjusting them as needed.
How will I know if there’s a known issue? You'll be notified via Slack if we discover an issue with your billing.
I’m moving house, can I keep this offer? If you’re planning to move house, please let us know, and we’ll see whether we can reapply the Weekender plan to your new property.
What happens after the trial ends? You’ll be moved back onto your original plan, reverting to the same rates. If you were on a contract that ended during the trial, you will still revert to your original plan and contracted rates. Your account will then follow the usual price change process.
Can I opt out of the trial once it has started? Ideally, you’d stay on the trial for the entire duration. If you have circumstances that require you to leave, please let our team know via the Slack channel. You’ll then move back to your original plan.
