JAMES' STARSHIP STORY

James was born prematurely by emergency C-section due to serious pregnancy complications. At just five days old, he was diagnosed with LCHADD, a rare metabolic disorder affecting fat processing - adding to an already stressful time. 

James was instantly put under the care of the Starship Metabolic team. They were, and still are superheroes to James and his parents.

HOW MERCURY CUSTOMER DONATIONS HELP CHILDREN WITH CANCER

Cancer therapy can put children and young people at risk of infertility, but Starship's oncology team was able to talk to Mollie and her family about a procedure called Ovarian Tissue Cryopreservation (OCT). Thanks to Mercury customers who donate to Starship, young cancer patients can now access fertility-preserving treatments that give them hope for the future.

HOW THE STARSHIP AIR AMBULANCE SAVED GIGI'S LIFE

When three-year-old Gigi suffered a severe accident, the distance between her and the critical care she needed could have been fatal. Thanks to the Starship National Air Ambulance she was swiftly transported from Tauranga to Starship Hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for life-saving treatment.
