Here’s your chance to Win Wonderful with Mercury! By taking part in our Second Sun 2024 competition, you’ll go in the draw to win 12 months of power and 12 months of Broadband ("Promotion"). By entering this Promotion, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. To enter this Promotion, you must be aged 18 years or over. You’ll need to be an existing Mercury customer or join Mercury as a new customer to be eligible to claim the prize.
2. To enter the Promotion, simply fill in the form via our online platform www.mercury.co.nz/secondsuncomp or via the onsite photo activation platform and enter your name and email address and submit from March 21st – April 7th 2024 (the “Promotion Period”).
3. By filling in our online form and entering your name and email address, you will receive 1 entry into the draw to win.
4. There is a maximum of one entry per person.
THE PRIZE - POWER:
5. If you are our winner, you’ll get a credit on your energy supply invoices, each month for 12 consecutive months, up to a maximum of $300 per month. Depending on your billing cycle, this credit may be processed and applied on a different cycle to your monthly bill. The credit will only apply to electricity charges (including your daily fixed charge, variable usage charges, GST and the Electricity Authority Levy) and excludes all gas charges, special charges and service charges. You must pay for any charges on your invoice, over $300.
6. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS – POWER:
7. If you are a current Mercury customer, we will use the price plan that you are on five working days before your 12 months of free power starts, to work out your fixed and variable charges. You will pay the applicable rates for any electricity supplied after the expiry of the 12 month period.
8. If you aren’t a current Mercury customer, you will need to apply to join Mercury. If your application is accepted we will put you on Mercury's standard price plan to work out your fixed and variable charges. You will pay the applicable rates for any electricity supplied after the expiry of the 12 month period.
9. Using smart meters, Mercury can work out exactly how much power you use to work out the monthly credit for your electricity charges (if they're less than $300). If we can’t work out your usage for any reason, we won't be able to work out exactly how much power you used to apply the monthly credit. In this situation, we'll apply a $300 credit to your account to make sure you don't miss out.
10. Mercury will automatically apply the credit to your Mercury account each month for 12 consecutive months.
11. Mercury's General Residential Terms and Conditions and Electricity & Piped Gas Terms will apply to the supply of electricity.
THE PRIZE – BROADBAND:
12. You will get a credit on your broadband supply invoices, each month for 12 consecutive months, up to a maximum of $106 per month. Depending on your billing cycle, this credit may be processed and applied on a different cycle to your monthly bill. The credit will only apply to broadband charges and exclude the purchase of any Mercury routers, listed below in ‘Router details’, clause 15. If a Mercury router is selected, this charge will appear on your first broadband bill. If your broadband charges are greater than $106 per month you must pay the additional charges.

13. If the prize winner does not have a current broadband plan with Mercury, the winner will need to select one of Mercury's unlimited naked fibre broadband plans on a 1 year fixed term offer, either:

15. Unless you bring your own router, you will need to purchase one of Mercury's routers to access Mercury broadband:
16. The charge for the router you select will appear on your first broadband bill.
17. Mercury's General Residential Terms and Conditions and Phone & Broadband Terms will apply to the supply of broadband.
OTHER CONDITIONS
PICKING THE WINNERS
20. We want this Promotion to be fair for everyone, so if any entries are incomplete, illegible, ‘hacked’ or look fraudulent, then we may not be able to accept your entry into the Promotion.
21. The prize winner will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries within ten working days of the end of the Promotion Period.
22. If you are our lucky winner, we’ll notify you by email within 10 days of the prize draw using the email address you submitted when you completed the ‘Mercury Second Sun Competition.
23. We will do our best to contact you if you are the winner, but if we can’t get in touch with you within 10 days of the prize draw, we may redraw the prize and award it to someone else.
PRIVACY
24. We’re committed to protecting your privacy. We’ll only collect and use your details for the purposes of running this Promotion, including to ask you to participate in an online survey after the Promotion.
25. To access or correct your details, get in touch with us. Mercury’s privacy policy will apply.
26. If you win this prize, you agree to participate in any publicity generated by Mercury, and agree to the use of your first name and location for promotional purposes. You agree that Mercury can use footage and photography captured of you for promotional or advertising purposes. We love sharing good news!
THE LEGAL STUFF
27. Mercury NZ Limited is the promoter of this Promotion. By entering, your information will only be used by Mercury – we won’t share this with Facebook or Instagram. This Promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram so Facebook and/or Instagram will not be liable to you for any reason.
28. We do our best to make all of our promotions wonderful, but sometimes things can go wrong. However, if something does go wrong, Mercury and its suppliers will not be liable to you for any loss or damage (including personal injury) that you might suffer through participating (or not participating) in the Promotion or winning (or not winning) any prize.
29. Occasionally, things happen which are outside of Mercury’s control and we may have to change or cancel the Promotion or these terms and conditions.
