WHAT'S AN eSIM?
An eSIM is an embedded digital SIM that activates your device on the mobile network. Because it's built in, you don't need to insert or swap physical SIM cards. You can load several plans onto a single device, making it easy to manage work, travel and/or personal numbers in one place. Better for the planet, easier for you.
*currently available to existing Mercury mobile customers only
We're piloting eSIM for our current customers. If you're an existing Mercury Mobile customer and your phone is eSIM compatible, here's how to make the switch:
To get started, make sure your phone is eSIM compatible, then contact us to begin the switch. Please note: we're not able to offer eSIM to new mobile customers at this time.
It’s a good idea to check whether your device supports eSIM first. You can easily do this by taking a look at our eSIM Device Compatibility page.

ACTIVATING YOUR eSIM
After requesting your eSIM, you'll receive an email with your unique details and a link to activate your eSIM on iPhone or Android.
If the link doesn't work, you can use the QR code as a backup.
Before you begin, make sure your phone is connected to WiFi - this will help ensure a smooth activation without using your mobile data. To activate, simply click the link relevant to your device and follow the on-screen instructions. If this doesn't work, instructions on how to use the QR code will also be attached.
This contains your eSIM activation data, including your mobile number and carrier profile information. It's unique to you and should not be shared with anyone else.
No, once you've successfully activated your eSIM, the activation details becomes invalid for security reasons. If you need to transfer your eSIM to a new device, contact us and we'll send you a new one.
Yes, if your phone supports dual SIM functionality. Many modern phones let you use a physical SIM and eSIM simultaneously with different numbers. However, for your Mercury mobile service, you'll be switching from your physical SIM to eSIM for the same number, so you should remove your physical SIM once eSIM is set up.
No, eSIM uses the same amount of battery and data as a physical SIM card. Your phone's performance and data usage won't change when you switch to eSIM.
No, using eSIM doesn't lock your phone to Mercury. Your device remains unlocked (if it was unlocked before).
