Here’s your chance to Win Wonderful with Mercury! We’ve put together the following terms and conditions which you’ll need to agree to by entering our ‘Walk to win free power for August’ promotion (the “Promotion”):

The Prize
  1. Five lucky customers will each receive free power for the month of August 2019.

  2. If you are a winner, you will receive a bill credit, which we will apply to your Mercury residential account before 30 September 2019. The value of this bill credit will be the amount you were charged for your power usage between 1st and 31st August 2019. Depending on your billing cycle, this credit may not show until your September 2019 bill is issued. The credit will only apply to electricity charges (including your daily fixed charge, variable usage charges, GST and the Electricity Authority levy) and excludes all gas charges.

  3. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
How to Enter
  1. To enter this Promotion, you must be a Mercury residential customer, living in NZ, aged 18 years or over. Employees of Mercury NZ Limited, and their immediate families, will not be eligible to win this prize.

  2. To enter the Promotion, download our Mercury Go app (if you haven’t already), log in with your Mercury My Account details, and then successfully complete a ‘Walk to win free power for August’ step challenge between 25 July and 31 August 2019 (the “Promotion Period”).

  3. You can enter the Promotion multiple times. Each time you successfully complete a ‘Walk to win free power in August’ step challenge within the Promotion Period, you’ll get one entry in the draw.

  4. You’ll need to remain a Mercury customer until 31 September 2019 to have the credit applied to your account

  5. We want this Promotion to be fair for everyone, so if any entries are incomplete, illegible, ‘hacked’ or look fraudulent, then we may not be able to accept your entry into the Promotion.
Picking the Winner
  1. Five winners will be randomly drawn by 6 September 2019 at Mercury’s office – 33 Broadway, Newmarket, Auckland.

  2. If you’re a lucky winner, we’ll notify you by phone or email within 48 hours of the prize draw using the contact details associated with your Mercury account.

  3. If a winner cannot be contacted by the promoter within 7 days of the prize draw, Mercury may choose to redraw another winner.

  4. Winners will be required to confirm acceptance of these terms and conditions in order to receive the prize. If the winner chooses not to accept these terms and conditions they will no longer be eligible to receive a prize, and the prize will be redrawn.

  5. We’ll then credit your account for the electricity you used in the month of August 2019, within 10 working days of contact and these terms being accepted.

  3. If you win a prize, you agree to participate in any publicity generated by Mercury, and agree to the use of your name, address and photo for promotional purposes. We love sharing good news!

  1. Mercury NZ Limited is the promoter of this Promotion. By entering, your information will only be used by Mercury - we won’t share this with Facebook. This Promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook so Facebook will not be liable to you for any reason.

  2. We do our best to make all of our promotions wonderful, but sometimes things can go wrong. However, if something does go wrong, Mercury will not be liable to you for any loss or damage (including personal injury) that you might suffer through participating in the Promotion or winning (or not winning) any prize. .

  3. Occasionally, things happen which are outside of Mercury’s control and we may have to change or cancel the Promotion or these terms and conditions.
