e.transport

New Zealand is perfect for electric transport. More than 80% of our country's electricity generation is renewable, and at Mercury we do even better than that. Our energy generation comes from 100% renewable sources making us the perfect choice to fuel New Zealand's growing fleet of electric cars and bikes.

Why e.transport

Solar research and development centre

The new Research and Development Centre sits on the site of the former gas-fired Southdown power station.

We will be trialling a variety of solar panels, including advanced prototypes not yet available in New Zealand which is expected to offer unprecedented levels of efficiency, great new look design and 30-year performance guarantees.

The latest battery technologies will be integrated with solar generation, as well as EV charging, to show how a total ‘home energy ecosystem’ can create, store and use energy. Solar Analytics’ patented monitoring and optimisation software will also be installed at the site.
