SAMSUNG HEAT PUMPS

We believe that even small steps can lead to big changes - that’s why we’ve partnered with Samsung to bring heat pumps to our You Choose range.

SAMSUNG HEAT PUMPS ARE NOW AVAILABLE* ON OUR YOU CHOOSE RANGE

At Mercury, we’re all about making sustainable choices simple, and we’re proud to offer options that support this commitment. A Samsung heat pump can help to warm and cool areas of your home, while keeping energy costs and carbon emissions down. Here in Aotearoa, we call them heat pumps, but in many places, they’re known as air conditioners.

No matter the name, the technology is the same - our Samsung heat pumps provide both heating and cooling, making them a smart choice year-round. If you’re still relying on older heating solutions like space heaters or oil column heaters, now might be the perfect time to upgrade.

WHY CHOOSE A HEAT PUMP OVER A TRADITIONAL HEATER?

VERSATILITY

Heat pumps not only heat in winter but also cool in summer, giving you year-round use.

LOWER ENERGY USE

Compared to older heaters, heat pumps are much more energy-efficient, which could mean more savings for you.

CLEANER AIR

Many heat pumps, including the Samsung models we have available, come with built-in filters to reduce dust and allergens, helping to improve the air quality.

3 SIZES TO CHOOSE FROM

Looking to make your bedroom or living room super cosy? We’ve got three Samsung heat pump sizes to choose from, so you can pick the one that’s right for your space.

  • Small Space (Up to 28m2) – 2.5kW

INSTALLATION OPTIONS FOR YOUR HEAT PUMP

Please note that you will be responsible for arranging and covering the cost of the installation of your Samsung heat pump. Installation cost is payable directly to your chosen installer. T&Cs apply.

SAMSUNG'S FREE, NO OBLIGATION ESTIMATE

We highly recommend getting a free estimate from Samsung’s partner installer, Laser Electrical, before choosing a heat pump. No video calls, no home visits - just an online form. Easy! If you prefer to give Laser a call, you can reach them at 0800 438 529.

YOUR PREFERRED INSTALLER

If you prefer to work with your own installer, that works too! Just a heads-up, Samsung’s warranty requires their heat pumps to be installed by a certified HVAC installer. Your safety is our top priority, so we recommend having a certified electrician connect your heat pump to the power supply.

HOW TO RUN YOUR HEAT PUMP EFFICIENTLY

FOCUS ON INSULATION

A well-insulated home keeps warm air in during winter and keeps heat from entering during summer, so your heat pump doesn’t have to work as hard. This can make a noticeable difference to your power bill. EECA is running a Warmer Kiwi Homes programme – if you live and own an under insulated house and meet certain criteria, you may be eligible for a heating subsidy! Visit their website to find out more.

REGULAR MAINTENANCE

Having your heat pump serviced periodically will keep it running smoothly and help it last longer. After your heat pump has been working, the Auto Clean function automatically dries the Heat Exchanger using a 3-step process. Ensuring your Heat Pump stays cleaner for longer

USE IT SMARTLY

Instead of blasting the heat or cooling on full power, aim for consistent, comfortable temperatures to save energy. Samsung’s AI Auto mode can automatically optimise the various modes by analysing the room conditions and your usage patterns. Their AI technology offers an intelligent way to enhance your comfort.

Samsung heat pumps FAQ

Do I have to get an installation estimate before I sign up? We highly recommend you get an estimate from Samsung’s trusted third-party installer, Laser Electrical, or your preferred certified HVAC installer before signing up, to reduce any potential surprises when it comes to installation!
How do I know which heat pump is right for my space? A certified HVAC installer can recommend the ideal heat pump size for the area where you plan to install it, or you can use this guide to help you decide. We have three heat pumps to choose from - we’re sure to have one that is right for your space.
Do I have to have the heat pump professionally installed?   As Kiwis, we love DIY, but this is one we should leave to the professionals. A Certificate of Compliance (CoC) will be issued by your Certified HVAC installer once the install is complete, so you have peace of mind your heat pump has been installed correctly in accordance with New Zealand’s electrical safety standards and codes. A valid CoC also forms part of Samsung’s product warranty requirements.
Does Mercury or Samsung organise the installation for the customer? No, organising the installation is the customers responsibility.
Can Mercury pay for the installation of the heat pump? No, paying for installation is the customer’s responsibility.
I’m renting the home I live in; can I get a heat pump? If you’re renting your home, please ensure you have received all necessary consents from the property owner to install the heat pump and you have suitable arrangements in place with the property owner about the ongoing ownership of the heat pump (for example, end of tenancy)
How will I know when the heat pump is going to be delivered?   You’ll receive an email from us letting you know when your heat pump has been ordered and is on its way. You will be able to track your appliance once it’s out for delivery with Fliway. If you have decided to use Laser Electrical for the installation, they will be in contact with you to schedule a convenient installation day.
