So far over one million kilometres have been cycled, walked or run along the Waikato River Trails – equivalent to 25 times around the earth!
Our partnership with the Waikato River Trails Trust dates back to 2004, and during that time significant investment has helped make the trails a popular family attraction.
We sent Te Radar out on a Mercury e.bike to tackle the first section of the Trails. Check out the video below...
The 105km long cycle and walkway along the banks of the Waikato River showcases the dramatic and beautiful natural environment of the Waikato region. Native bush, historic landmarks, geological formations and wetlands make up this great asset.
Our staff regularly muck in on riparian planting days, providing space for equipment storage at sites along the trail, and take part in multi-sport events such as the Taniwha and the Generator.
The Waikato River Trails are free and available for public use every day.
