MEMBERSHIP

To be a member

Mercury Energy Movie Club membership is available to Mercury Energy customers for a monthly fee, which we will add to your Mercury Energy bills.

To be a Mercury Energy Movie Club member, you must:

• hold a current Mercury Energy customer account (not a prepay account) for a residential property; 
• be at least 18 years of age;
• complete the card activation steps below;
• Satisfy our credit criteria at the time of registration.

Membership benefits

Mercury Energy Movie Club membership entitles you to the following benefits at EVENT Cinemas:

• Adult tickets at $10.50 per ticket, for standard movie screenings on a Monday and Tuesday only. Valid for up to three adults and for all screenings except special event films, Gold Class, Cinema Deluxe, 3D, IMAX, and film festivals.
• Gold Class tickets at $20 per ticket, for movie screenings on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only. Valid for up to two adults and for all Gold Class screenings except special event films, 3D,  and film festivals.
• Family Movie Pass – one adult and two kids at $29.  All screenings except special event films, 3D, Gold Class, Cinema Deluxe, 3D, IMAX, and film festivals. An extra adult ticket can be purchased for $10.50.
• Film, food and beverage offers, as described on our website.

To be eligible for discounted tickets and special offers, you must present your Mercury Energy Movie Club card at the ticket counter of any EVENT Cinema when purchasing movie tickets or other special offers: no card, no discounts or other benefits.

Cancelling your membership

You may cancel your Mercury Energy Movie Club membership at any time by giving us 30 days’ prior notice.  You may cancel your Mercury Energy Movie Club membership by:

• going to www.mercurymovieclub.co.nz and following the steps to cancel your membership; and
• returning your Mercury Energy Movie Club card to:

We will then remove the membership fee from your next Mercury Energy bill after the notification period.

If we do not receive your Mercury Energy Movie Club card, we reserve the right to charge you a single amount for membership fees expected up to and including the expiry date of your current membership.

EXPIRY

If you cease to hold a Mercury Energy residential customer account prior to your Mercury Energy Movie Club membership expiring, your Mercury Energy Movie Club membership will be cancelled.

INFORMATION AND PRIVACY

Any personal information you provide to us when applying for Mercury Energy Movie Club membership (e.g. your name, address, and Mercury Energy customer account details) will be:

• held by us in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act 1993;
• used only for the purposes of the Mercury Energy Movie Club (including to process your membership application and notify you of special offers), supplying you with energy and other associated services, debt recovery and/or credit checking purposes, and for providing you with information about the special offers, discounts and other goods and services that Mercury Energy or other persons may from time to time wish to offer you.

The information you provide to us must be correct and complete.  If any of the information becomes incorrect or changes, you must let us know as soon as possible.

You have the right to access and correct personal information we hold about you, and you may advise us at any time by contacting our Customer Service Representatives if you do not wish us to contact you from time to time for marketing purposes.

OTHER MATTERS

Mercury Energy is a division of Mighty River Power Limited.

Employees of Mighty River Power Limited and its advertising agencies and their immediate families may become members of the Mercury Energy Movie Club but are not eligible for entry to promotional draws.

Any special offer or promotion may be subject to separate terms and conditions or exclusions.

Mercury Energy’s decision on all matters relating to the Mercury Energy Movie Club or a promotion/special offer is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Mercury Energy may at any time in its sole discretion, suspend or terminate the Mercury Energy Movie Club or any individual Mercury Energy Movie Club membership, or alter or amend the Mercury Energy Movie Club terms and conditions or fees by publishing those alterations or amendments on Mercury Energy’s website.

Offers and promotions are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Offers and promotions can only be redeemed at EVENT Cinemas.

CARD ACTIVATION

If you do not have a membership card, you will receive your validated card in the post with your unique activation code loaded into the barcode on the card.

If you have received a membership card, please complete the card activation steps below, and we’ll send you your Mercury Energy Movie Club unique activation code by e-mail.  Simply handwrite your activation code on your Mercury Energy Movie Club card, and present it at participating Event Cinemas to enjoy the benefits.

By joining the Mercury Energy Movie Club, you confirm that:

• you qualify for membership (i.e. you have a current Mercury Energy account and you are at least 18 yrs old);
• you accept the monthly fee; and
• you accept and agree to these Mercury Energy Movie Club terms and conditions.

Win tickets to Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Australian Premiere in Sydney – Terms and Conditions

1. The competition prize is for 2 adults and 2 children (children aged 12 and under) with return economy airfares to Sydney departing on May 15^th and returning on May 18^th 2011. Prize includes accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children at Rydges World Square Sydney and $1000 NZD spending money.  There is one prize to be won. 

2. The winner and their family must be available to travel on these days.

3. Entry to the competition is open to new and existing movie club members via the entry method emailed to you.  i.e. New members must join the club by 6 May 2011 to be in to win.  Existing members must swipe their Movie Card at an EVENT Cinema outlet when making a purchase before 6 May 2011.  Christchurch members can enter by correctly answering the trivia question emailed to you by 6 May 2011.      

4. Mercury Energy's decision in relation to the prize draw (including but not limited to eligibility) shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

5. The winner will be drawn and notified on Monday 9 May. If the winner cannot be notified within three attempts via phone, Mercury Energy reserves the right to draw another winner.

6. The winner and their family must hold passports valid for at least the next six months to be eligible to win this prize

7. Staff of Mercury Energy and their immediate family are not eligible to enter the draw.

10. Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash

1. To be eligible for a free movie ticket, Mercury Energy customers must join the Mercury Energy Movie Club via the email ‘Let us treat you to a free movie!’ before Tuesday 19^th of April 2011.
2. The free movie ticket will be sent to new member with Movie Club membership card, up to ten days after joining.
3. EVENT Cinemas ‘Conditions of use’ as printed on the reverse of the ticket apply.
4. Mercury Energy Movie Club terms and conditions for membership apply.
5. Offer closes at midnight on Tuesday April 19th 2011.
6. Only one free ticket per Mercury Energy Movie Club member. 
7. This offer is not redeemable for cash.

1. Movie Club members can upgrade to VMAX for an additional $2 on Monday and Tuesday nights during April 2011, taking the price of a VMAX ticket from $10.50 to $12.50
2. VMAX is only available at EVENT Cinemas, St Lukes Auckland
3. Movie Club members must present their Mercury Energy Movie Club card to take up this offer.
