Save power this winter

We're very keen to help you keep your electricity bill down. Luckily it's easy to save money, while staying healthy and warm - all you need to do is reduce wastage of heat and energy.

So here's how:

In this section you can also find out where the heat goes, our room by room tips, typical cost of using appliances and even a step by step guide to making your home run more efficiently. You can even print off a savings checklist to keep note of the changes you've made.

1. Based on reducing your thermostat temperature by 50 C and continuing to operate it 24/7.
2. Based on the cost of a warm washing load costing 28 cents per load, a cold load costing 4 cents per load and a load of tumble drying costing 78 cents per load. Savings are calculated on the basis of the number of tumble dryer loads you do per week being reduced from four to two (104 times per year) and switching four warm water washes per week to cold water washes (208 times per year).
3. Based on a standard 60W heated towel rail operated 24/7 costing $8.92 per month to run.
4. This statement is based on manufacturer claims - Ecobulbs™. See www.ecobulb.com/nz/FAQs for details.
