Counties Power is the lines company that services the Counties area.
We have a number of price plans available. To determine which is the best plan
for you, it's important to consider the amount of electricity you use and the
metering set-up at your property. The following information explains this in
more detail.
We also offer special discounts with
all our price plans, such as a 10% Prompt Payment Discount when you pay your
bill by the discount expiry date. Please click
here to find out more about discounts.
Pricing options based on your electricity consumption and meter setup
In your network we have two price plans available - these are dependent on your
energy usage and apply to all properties that are a primary residence*:
-
Low User Plans
This is the best option for those who use less than 8,000 kWh per year.
-
Standard Plans
This is the best option for those who use more than 8,000 kWh per year
*Where a property is not a primary residence, only the Standard
User Plan is available. For more information,

Consolidated pricing not offered on Counties Network
Please note: Mercury Energy do not offer consolidated pricing on the Counties
Network therefore if your property is switched to Mercury Energy the site will
be deconsolidated.

A de-consolidation is where a property has more then one Connection Point, but
they are under a single ICP number. Often the Connection Points have already
been deconsolidated before the site is switched into Mercury Energy and only
additional ICP(s) are required so we can separate Residential and Commercial
properties (under their unique ICP numbers).
Example
The below site has been switched into Mercury Energy and shows that the 1 ICP is
supplying a House, Cowshed and Pump but has multiple connection points. To make
certain the charges applied by the network company and meter owner are correct
and up-to-date we liaise with Counties Power (your network company) to ensure
we have unique ICP numbers per Connection Point.
-
ICP 0000000000CN000 - Supplies the House, Cowshed and Pump
-
ICP 0000000000CN001 - Created for Cowshed / Meters
-
ICP 0000000000CN002 - Created for the Pump / Meters
This ensures the correct charges are being applied per ICP / Meter.
Definitions
- Connection point
-
The actual point where Power is supplied to. The connection point is where the
connection from boundary to the house.
- ICP Number
-
Installation Control Point. A point of connection on a local network or
embedded network, which the Distributor nominates as the point at which a
Retailer will be deemed to supply electricity to a consumer.
- De-consolidation
-
De-consolidation is where multiple connection points or multiple meters which
are under one ICP number are split into separate accounts under unique ICP
numbers.
