Having your electricity meter read regularly* means you can relax, secure in the
knowledge that your energy bills are accurate. However, it isn't always easy to
have your meter read.
To make your life easier and to help ensure that you always have accurate bills,
Mercury Energy has a Remote Reading Service in some areas**, for homes and
businesses with difficult to reach meters.

We may be able to read your meter without having access to your house, business
or property.
With our Remote Reading Service you don't have to be there to let us in, disarm
your security system or even tie up your dog.
A Remote Meter Reader is a small device that can be attached to your fence,
front gate or just outside your door, then connected to your electricity meter.
When our meter reader arrives, he or she simply picks up your reading through an
electronic signal - accurate, reliable and above all, convenient for you.
How much does a Remote Meter Reader
cost?
Rental
and maintenance costs are just $43.80 +GST per year and will be
reflected on your bill as a 12 cent daily charge.

*Industry regulations state we must read
your electricity meter at least every 4 months. It is Mercury Energy's
policy to endeavour to read customers' meters every month, as stated
