New Connections Centre

Mercury Energy provides a dedicated Connection Centre team for electricians, developers and builders to contact. This is to make it as easy as possible for tradespeople to arrange new connections or alterations to existing properties for electricity or gas.

So if you are building a brand new house or changing an existing property, all you need to do is either:

  • call 0800 490 003 Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5.00 pm;
  • fax 0800 490 002;
  • email conncentre@mercury.co.nz, or
  • click the button below to request a new connection online.

Your online Application for Supply (AFS) will be sent to the Mercury New Connections Team. These files will be cleared daily during working hours, Monday-Friday 8pm-5pm.

If your email is received by 2pm on a working day it will be processed for the next day for completion of the job. If received after 2pm it will be processed for 2 days later for completion of the job*.

*Remember if the work is in the United Network (Vector Northern) area, the job needs to be ready and the Certificate of Compliance in the meter box by 8am on the day you book the livening for, or it could incur a cost for a re-visit.
