We’re pleased as punch to announce that Mercury Energy was named Energy Retailer of the Year at the Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards last night. 

Yay!
Waa hoo!
Yee haw!
Yip-yip-yippie!
(Right, got that out of our system.)

Rated on our strong overall performance, successful improvements to the business over the past year, and innovation in our product offerings to customers, winning the prize means a lot to us here at Mercury.

Our General Manager, James Munro, summed up the win nicely when he said "We’re very proud to be recognised for another strong year. We’ve worked hard to continue the transformation of our business from a traditional utility provider, to a dynamic, progressive retailer. This award is testament to the hard work of our employees and the continually high level of service we provide to our customers."
 
Beyond winning Energy Retailer of the Year last night, we are also very proud of our Community Relations Manager, Helen Amituana’i, who was up for the award of Energy Executive of the Year and Bryan Dobson, the General Manager of Mighty River Power’s BOSCO Connect for Young Energy Executive of the Year.
 

Yep, last night was a good night – there are a lot of smiles on the faces of the Mercury team here in the building today. It just goes to show that, in the end, good business is all about people working hard at helping people.

And, we’re happy to be focused on our customers and the community.
