Fix your rate...at ZERO!

Most of us love surprises.

That said, one type of surprise we could all do without is price hikes.  Like most products and services we pay for today, power hasn't been exempt from this phenomena.  That is, until we released our three year fixed rate product. 

Being able to fix in your power rate for three years must have struck a chord because tens of thousands of kiwi homes have now chosen our new 'no surprises' fixed rate option.

One lucky couple from Te Aroha got a big surprise when they they learned they'd won our prize draw to fix their price for three years at the best price of all - ZERO!
 
But we didn't stop there.  We had one more surprise in store when we arrived on their doorstep to not only hand deliver the good news, but to treat them to lunch (all this surprising is hungry work) and a guided tour of the Karapiro hydro power station.

It’s not everyday we get to break bread with our customers.  Our winners, Graham and Judy, were wonderful company for Ruth (our contact centre manager) and I as we all received an education in energy and eels (yes, eels!).
 
The Karapiro hydro station is extraordinary. It boasts a truly spectacular natural setting and a similarly impressive station manager (Geoff) who is a living encyclopaedia when it comes to Karapiro. He’s spent almost his entire adult life working at the station and knows every corner, nook and cranny.
