About reading your meter

It wouldn't work for your business.

So why should it work for your power company?

Just as any customer would expect to pay an accurate price for their day-to-day purchases, so should you. Particularly when it comes to the energy you use to run your business.

As a Mercury Energy customer, you don't have to rely on an estimate. We read your meter every month, so you pay only for the energy you've actually used.

And by paying for only what you need to, the management of your monthly cash flow is simplified. It's all part of our commitment to giving you certainty and making your business more successful.

Access to meter is required. Conditions apply.

Mercury Energy offers a monthly meter reading service to all its customers. However, it may not always be possible for us to access your meter (if your meter's inside and no staff are at the premises, for example). In these cases it is normal for us to estimate as accurately as possible your consumption.

If this is not acceptable to you, then a number of alternatives are available such as our Remote Reading Service or as a last resort, you can take your own meter reading.

To read your own meter* you can either:

  2. enter it using our automated telephone service by calling

  3. contact our Dedicated Business Team on 0800 20 18 20.

Note: in order to comply with legislation, Mercury Energy's policy is to only accept a maximum of six consecutive customer readings.

  *Acceptance of customer provided readings is at Mercury Energy's discretion.
